Using a found piece of driftwood, I created this macramé wall art using various knot techniques. Once complete, I dip-dyed the hanging in two-minute intervals, eventually dyeing the bottom section the longest (five to seven minutes) to create the ombre effect. The vat was created using all-natural ingredients with indigo, fructose and calcium hydroxide. After rinsing and drying, the fibre art piece is finished and ready to hang.

Indigo fructose kit was purchased through Hilary L Hahn.

Frederick Mason Pulve

It is with heavy hearts that my family and I announce the passing of my father Frederick Mason Pulve, June 28, 1940 – May 08, 2022. He went to join his heavenly father along with his late mother, father, brother, and sister.

Born and raised in Michigan, my dad enlisted in the USAF, attended Wayne State University (where he met my mom Michelle), married and began a career in real estate. Ultimately, they had me and my brother and moved our family to Arizona. He loved boating, volunteering for the USCG Auxiliary and his rescue dog Huey.

Fred is survived by Michelle (his wife of 57 years); daughter Renee; son Matt Pulve; daughter-in-law Bnae Pulve; his three grandchildren Mason, Brena Pulve, Merik Pulve; and three grand-fur babies Suki, Biscuit, and Bella.

We love you and miss you.

At my father’s request, there will be no formal service and he chose to donate his body to science. As his favorite writer would say…“and now you know the rest of the story.”

If you would like to donate in his memory, these are some of his favorite charities.

bonnie christine Immersion 2022

If you've ever wanted to start a career in surface design and learn how to license your art, Bonnie Christine has opened enrollment for her highly anticipated Immersion 2022 course. 🎉

Since taking the 2021 program, I revamped my website, created an online pattern library, and signed two licensing contracts. One of them being this pattern. 🍂 I created it during the course using foliage found on a hike and it was ultimately purchased by a wallpaper company. Within a few months, the course had paid for itself! 👊🏻

Filled with over a decade's worth of knowledge, this comprehensive 8 week course will teach you Adobe Illustrator, how to begin making beautiful artwork, start seeing your patterns on products and craft the career of your dreams.

As a graphic designer of almost 30 years, I considered myself very proficient in AI and was amazed at the new tips and tricks I learned. My favorite being how to digitize your watercolor art. 🎨 Total game changer.

I feel so strongly about the benefits of the course that I'm taking it again! 🤩 Who wants to join me? 🙋🏼‍♀️ As an added bonus, the first 10 sign ups will receive an hour long, one-on-one coaching session where you can ask me anything. Click here to learn more - enrollment opens just once a year - from February 15th - 22nd. Save your spot now!

smudge design is now Rochelle renee

Rochelle-Renee-Logo.jpg

It’s officially the first week of summer and this seemed like a great time to announce some big news. After almost 20 years of being Smudge Design (named after my beloved pug Smudge), I made the leap to Rochelle Renee. What many of you may not know is, this is my birth name and I’ve gone by my middle name for most of my life. (While I actually prefer Rochelle, my parents decided to call me Renee after confusion when calling out Michelle and Rochelle in the same household). If you’re interested in collaborating, I also added a licensing section which showcases my stationery and pattern gallery upon request. Wish me luck!
